Off the back of our Great Place to Work recognition in November, Cherry are delighted to announce that we have been recognised as a Best Workplace for Wellbeing. Cherry are so proud to receive this award and thank everyone for the contribution they have made towards achieving it. The wellbeing of their staff is extremely important to them and having made it a priority over the last few years, it’s immensely pleasing that everyone’s efforts have been recognised.
So, what have they done?
Cherry continued their learning and development focus, facilitating over 2,000 hours of training last year despite extended periods of lockdown. They continued to deliver two-tier management training to ensure that their managers and future leaders are equipped to support their teams – from day-to-day management, to effective appraisals and robust development conversations, their continued focus on management and leadership development helped them to facilitate the promotion of 27 Cherries in 2021!
Cherry, alongside the other UK brands, moved into a brand-new office providing first class facilities in a fabulous location, which Cherry recognise has had a significant impact on our employee wellbeing! Cherry has remained flexible – providing hybrid working, allowing everyone to enjoy the benefits of working remotely but also share in the advantages of collaboration that being in the office provides.
There was significantly increased recognition across the business as Cherry handed out more awards to celebrate the achievements that many of their team have delivered through hard work and creativity. And they continued to listen and provide the opportunity for a voice within the business through the various forums they hold, all the way from JAE up to director level.
CSR was another huge focus for them in 2021: they ran five corporate volunteer days with the Bankside Trust and Bankside Settlement and had several internal fundraising initiatives – including a gift donation for the Samaritans as well as fundraising for breast cancer research. What’s more they had fun doing it!
Cherry also increased their annual leave allowance, gave everyone a day off for the summer party and hosted a whole host of company and team socials, more of which they hope to be able to provide this year.
They couldn’t have achieved this without everyone’s help and support. John Goundry, Managing Partner, wanted to give a special thank you to the HR team as well as the CSR, wellbeing and the social committees for their contribution to the award this year – “it was a massive Team effort and thank you to everyone for their contribution and making this award possible”.
